General & branch locations

Where to find us, how to book, opening hours and payment options at every Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre clinic across Central Kenya.

Where are Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre branches located?

Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre operates ten clinics across Central Kenya — Murang'a (United Plaza open 24 hours and Mentor Sacco Plaza), Kerugoya (Family Bank House, Anchor Plaza and Mutige Kiboti), Embu Town, Mwea, Ishiara, Nyeri and Ol Kalau. Save our Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre Murang'a contacts, Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre Embu contacts and Focus Kerugoya location and WhatsApp number so you can reach the branch nearest you directly.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in for services?

Walk-ins are welcome for most services at every Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre branch — routine blood tests, general consultations, lab panels, digital X-rays and dental check-ups. For time-sensitive services like an ultrasound scan in Murang'a, an ECHO heart test Embu patients rely on, and specialist doctor clinics, we recommend booking ahead via WhatsApp or by phone so we can reserve a slot with the on-duty clinician.

What are your operating hours and accepted payment methods?

Monday to Saturday: 7:30 AM – 8:30 PM. Sunday & public holidays: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Our Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre Murang'a (United Plaza) branch is open 24 hours including public holidays for emergencies, lab work and imaging.

We accept M-Pesa, cash and bank cards, and we work directly with SHA / NHIF and all major private insurers. Bring your ID and insurance details — our team confirms eligibility before you're seen.

Category B

Ultrasound & imaging services

How ultrasound scans work at Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre — reports, preparation and what to expect at your visit.

How quickly will I get my ultrasound scan results?

Same-day. Every ultrasound scan at Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre — from the obstetric scan Embu parents come to us for, to a pelvic ultrasound Kerugoya patients book, to abdominal and Doppler studies in Murang'a — is read on the machine by our radiographer and followed with a printed report plus a soft PDF copy handed over the same visit.

Do I need to prepare before coming for an ultrasound scan?

Yes for most studies:

  • Pelvic, obstetric and early-pregnancy scans — drink about 1 litre of water an hour before your appointment and do not empty your bladder. A comfortably full bladder gives us a clear image.
  • Abdominal ultrasound — fast for 6–8 hours beforehand (water is fine) so your gallbladder and liver are fully visible.
  • Thyroid, breast, testicular, Doppler and small-part scans need no special preparation.

Call your nearest Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre branch or WhatsApp us if you're unsure what your specific scan requires.

Category C

Digital X-ray & cardiac tests

Where to get chest clearance, fracture imaging and ECG / ECHO heart screening across Central Kenya.

Where can I get a low-dose digital X-ray or chest clearance?

Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre runs low-dose digital X-ray Kerugoya and Nyeri suites. We handle chest X-ray Nyeri and Kerugoya referrals for pre-employment medical clearance, insurance medicals, TB screening, fracture imaging, spine series and abdominal (KUB) studies — with printed and digital images handed over the same visit.

How can I book an ECG or ECHO heart check near me?

Searching for an ECG test near me or an ECHO heart test Embu patients and professionals rely on — Focus Clinical and Diagnostics Centre offers both across Murang'a, Kerugoya, Embu, Mwea and Nyeri. Resting 12-lead ECG is walk-in during clinic hours (report printed in about 20 minutes). 2D / Doppler echocardiogram (ECHO) is by appointment with a cardiac technician — call your branch or WhatsApp us to reserve a slot.

You'll get same-day lab results Embu, Murang'a and Kerugoya patients expect — without having to travel back.
